Enjoy the February Edition of the Kolibri Games Newsletter. This is where we review the events of the past weeks and keep you updated on recent company and product milestones.
February was an eventful month here at Kolibri Games and we started with an amazing announcement: In the month of our fourth birthday, our company was acquired by French gaming giant Ubisoft – a high point in the history of our young company that will enable us to grow even further in the years to come. Ubisoft is a creative powerhouse and one of the strongest brands in the games industry – we are incredibly thrilled to be a part of this great family.
We Appeared In
Following the acquisition, we were all over the news this month: read about it on PC Gamer, in a feature on VentureBeat or over at Gamesindustry.biz. We are incredibly excited about all the media attention we got and are grateful that so many celebrated this achievement with us.
The Kolibri Games Blog
Over on our blog, we introduced another Kolibri: Barry is from LA, loves Zork and works as Brand Artist at Kolibri Games. Head over to medium for the full story.
In addition, we compiled a list of ten objects found in our Berlin HQ that no Kolibri can get around and that summarize our history, our work and our culture.
On Idle Miner Tycoon, the team gave the Mainland, where players earn gems to hire Super Managers, a complete visual overhaul. The Friend Boost panel that allows players to boost their income by connecting with their friends, also got a new look this month.
On Idle Factory Tycoon, the team worked hard on making Super Workers fit better into the current state of the game. Over the course of this month, their integration into the workflow has been adjusted and their passive and active abilities have been improved, making them an even more powerful asset.
We kicked the month off with celebrating the acquisition and our fourth birthday at the Kolibri HQ.
In addition, with the help of Vostel, a Berlin-based social enterprise that facilitates volunteering, we organized a workshop to provide food for local homeless shelters. With combined Kolibri power, we made over 250 sandwiches in a little more than an hour.
What Else Happened?
This month, our Web Developer Jenny gave the Idle Miner Tycoon website an awesome new look. Head over to www.idleminertycoon.com for more.
