The Kolibri Games Newsletter

Hi there!

Enjoy the November Edition of the Kolibri Games Newsletter. This is where we review the events of the past weeks and keep you updated on recent company and product milestones.

Company Milestones

This month, our co-founders, Oliver, Daniel and Janosch, were included in the 2020 Forbes “Under 30” list.

With Under 30, the German-language edition of Forbes Magazine annually honors young pioneers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Candidates include founders, investors, activists and publicists, e-sports stars, or tennis professionals – all of them are younger than 30 years old and have achieved outstanding results in their field or are working on solutions and products that make our world a better place.

An amazing recognition of their efforts to achieve sustained success with Kolibri Games.

We Appeared In

Our CTO and co-founder Oliver sat down with Nick from the FUTURE CANDY podcast and talked about the Kolibri Games founding story, why community management was so important for our initial success, and the challenges that come with an MVP approach to game development.

Our CEO and co-founder Janosch spoke to EU-Startups about trends in mobile gaming, Kolibri Games’ next steps and advice for young gaming entrepreneurs. In addition, he chatted with Robin from the Tech.eu podcast about how we developed and grew Idle Miner Tycoon, our acquisition by Ubisoft and the impact of COVID-19 on our work and the industry.

The Kolibri Games Blog

Over on the Kolibri Games blog, our talented artists on the Idle Miner Tycoon team shared insights into their art direction process and what goes into the creation of a new event mine.

Product Updates

This month, our Idle Miner Tycoon team worked hard on shipping the new Artifacts feature, implementing the Just Dance event mine (which is our first-ever crossover event and collaboration with our new partner Ubisoft), and running the first tests with our own Kolibri-developed A/B testing system.

Kolibri Games Events

With the holidays just around the corner, we feel it’s important to play our part in making sure it’s a season full of joy for everyone. That’s why, in November, we organized a Holiday gift bag drive as part of our KSR (Kolibri Social Responsibility) program, for children at a local refugee shelter. Given the current restrictions on gatherings, we decided to go for a remote format where every participant could contribute from home.

Open Positions

This month, we are looking for reinforcements for our product teams, so if you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment on free-to-play mobile titles, or know someone who does, make sure to check out the job descriptions on our career page.
