Kolibri Games Supports Berlin-Based Educational Charity

Monday, April 06, 2020 — Berlin | Kolibri Games has supported the Berlin-based Quinoa Bildung, a charity that aims to provide equal access to education to young people in Germany, regardless of their social and cultural background. As the situation around the coronavirus, that for weeks has paralyzed large parts of the world in a state of emergency, has worsened in Germany, the charity is in need of financial aid to ensure that all students who partake in their educational program can access digital homeschooling offers and continue their studies. Kolibri Games has donated high-end devices, such as laptops and tablets, that allow students to access digital learning materials from home.

Quinoa Bildung was founded in 2013 with the aim of allowing all young people in Germany, regardless of their social and cultural background, equal access to education and a school diploma. In 2014, the organization opened its state-recognized Quinoa-School in Berlin-Wedding that, for many years now, serves as an example of how education systems can overcome social and economical disadvantages and achieve equal opportunities.

Janosch Sadowski, Kolibri Games Co-CEO and Co-Founder, says:

We are in the privileged position of working in an industry that is not yet severely economically affected – and that can easily switch to remote work for a while. We encourage all companies in positions similar to ours to get active in their local communities and to support whoever is in need of help right now.

Kolibri Games has recently documented some of their measures taken in response to the current COVID-19 pandemic in a blog post.
